The Alexander Forbes MSA Marshal of the Year 2006
Is Bob Wright
National P.R.O. for the British Motorsport Marshals Club (and just
about to fly out to Dubai to marshal at the last round of the FIA
GT Championship - at Turn 1), forwards the news that Bob Wright
has been voted Alexander Forbes MSA Marshal of the Year 2006.
The award will be presented to Bob at the MSA Night
of Champions at the RAC Club in London during January, along with
a cheque for £250.
Bob Wright has been marshalling Race, Rally and
Rallycross meetings for over 35 years and last year committed over
100 days of marshalling, officiating in over 70 events. He is actively
involved in the training of new marshals and has helped with over
a dozen training days during the past year.
Allan Dean-Lewis, Head of External Affairs at the
MSA said that “Bob Wright is a unique character, well known
and liked throughout the UK. He has played a major role in the on-going
success of Croft but he has an amazing habit of making notable contributions
in the most unexpected places. There surely can be no more deserving
person for this award.”
In addition, Paul Harris has been singled out for
his hard work promoting recruitment drives within the BMMC - Paul
is an active member within the South Midlands Region – while
Liam Carton receives a Highly Commended Certificate for his work
with marshals in Northern Ireland.
Well done all of you marshals everywhere.
