The EERC’s New Hospitality Unit
Last weekend’s EERC event, on the Brands Hatch GP circuit, did indeed see James Tucker’s promised 170 cars in action, the EERC series being joined by the Dutch Supercars.

“The Dutch boys brought along their hospitality unit, so I took the decision there and then that we had to have one – so we have. It’s the former Petronas unit from the BTCC – so with the Dunlop Café as well, we’ll be fully geared up at Donington Park in August (Saturday August 5) for our next meeting,” comments James Tucker.

He’s expecting 34 to 36 Britcar entries, 40 Production S1s, 26 Britsports – and August 5 will see the proper launch of the V8 series, with two 25 minute races.

“With the new pit lane and garages, plus our new hospitality unit, plus big grids, it should be quite an event,” suggests James Tucker. "We're gearing up towards being a full-blown championship next year."

He’s also looking ahead to the Britcar 24 Hours, and is aiming to build on last year’s foundation.

“We’re aiming to give away a million vouchers for the Britcar 24 – through the JD Wetherspoon chain of public houses, on Tescos forecourts and in the local newspapers in the Silverstone area. We’ve also got Morgan, Porsche, Marcos, Subaru and MG Car Clubs involved, and they’ll be enjoying parade laps of the Grand Prix track.”

Promotion, promotion, promotion seems to be the watchword at EERC HQ.
