Britcar Joins The DTM
Consecutive DTM-related news items, now there’s a first on dailysportscar.

The DTM organisers haven’t recognised the existence of the event yet, but EERC supremo James Tucker has – the fact that the June 3-4 weekend will see a Britcar evening race (6 – 10 pm) joining a DTM race meeting.

“We’ll be sharing the GP garages with the DTM cars,” says James Tucker, “they’ll have 20 and we’ll have 25, alternately.

“We’ll get a crowd for this one.”

The Britcar and Production Saloons will comprise the Britcar side of the arrangement, and James Tucker is anticipating that “we’ll bring the DTM to Britcar meetings in the UK twice in 2007, and we’ll join them twice in Europe.”

Never one to miss an opportunity, Tucker points out that “it’s a good chance for teams to get in some practice at Spa before the Spa 24 Hours.”

The classic Belgian track has lost its F1 date (again) this year.

This image almost ties together the two DTM news items today.
