From Bahrain To….. Plans For 2005

“It was disappointing that the cars got stuck in China as we wanted to see how we match up to the best of the European GT cars.

“We’ve had some great backing from Glenn Cooper and Bruce Siney at Coopers Ales to get us here though and I reckon we’ve shown that the team has got what it takes.”

(Rumours persist that the team isviewing several other GT1 cars during their trip, in advance of an extended race programme in 2005).

Jack Leconte – Team Principal Larbre Competition
“We are entering a single Prodrive 550 at Sebring but our main programme should be in the LMES. It was wonderful to win the title in 2004 but a team like Larbre really needs to run two cars. I hope we can do that with a pair of 550s for both the LMES and Le Mans, but the deal has not yet been done.

”2005 will be a special year for us – Larbre is the only team other than Courage competition that has been represented on the grid at Le Mans for 15 consecutive years.”

Philippe Alliot – Team Principal Force One Racing
“I would like to run in the FIA GT Championship next season but it has become very expensive to be competitive there. For sure though we will be racing in the French Championship.”

Patrick Long
“It’s a little too early yet to find out what I’ll be doing next year, we usually find out more at the end of year banquet.

“I think I’m still in favour and it’s looking more likely that I’ll be heading stateside, but I hope to be able to do at least some LMES races too, they have been excellent this season.”

Jean-Philippe Belloc
“I would really like to go back to race in the USA next year again, the ALMS is a fantastic series. They have a fabulous organisation but it is very difficult for a French driver to find backing to race over there.

“I prefer the US circuits too, there is far more danger, a mistake is more likely to have a bigger effect on your ability to finish the race. The circuit here is wonderful but there is so much run-off that you can make a big mistake and still get away with it.”
