BMW M3 GTR At Zandvoort This Weekend
The dormant EuroGT series will hold its only event of the 2004 season at Zandvoort on August 7-8. The two 40 minute races, one on Saturday one on Sunday, will be support races to the Marlboro Formula 3 Masters, and should attract a good grid of GTs and "Specials", and hopefully lead to a revival of the series in 2005. The Masters always sees a healthy turnout of spectators, and there is a good chance the Dutch fans will see a home win.

Duncan Huisman will be driving a BMW M3 GTR – presumably not one of the Spa 24 Hours chassis.

"I am very proud that BMW Motorsport / Team Schnitzer will come to the Netherlands and take part in this race with me, with full works support,” says Duncan Huisman. Two Dutch BMW dealers are behind this effort, and have secured the necessary funding.

ETCC driver Huisman knows the M3 GTR well, because he was part of the triumphant BMW works squad at the Nürburgring 24 Hours where he shared the second-placed car with Boris Said and Pedro Lamy. With Huisman's local knowledge of the Zandvoort track, and Team Schnitzer's usual thorough car preparation, it adds up to an irresistible combination.

The BMW M3 GTR seems to be in greater demand than ever with organisers of GT races these days; Team Schnitzer may also take part in the 24 Hours of Zolder on 21-22 August.
