FFSA GT Dijon – June 19/20 – Preview
Three times winners already and always on the podium, the Olivier
Thévenin / Patrick Bornhauser pairing is getting the better
of its rivals in the FFSA GT Championship.
This pair is ahead in
the title race, but their challengers are not giving up, quite the
opposite. The fight back could be about to begin, and we should
look towards Dumez / Blanchemain and Besson / Hallyday for the strongest
challenge. Larbre Compétition and Force One Racing need to
beat the VBM Viper.
Other significant entries
are still looking for a first win, and top of this list is the Ferrari
550 Maranello driven by Patrice Goueslard and Olivier Dupard. Hardly
a week after they came through the Le Mans 24 Hours, both men are
back in the French Championship, and the fast sweeps of Dijon should
suit the big Ferrari.
But the biggest surprise
could come from a new entry in the French FFSA GT Championship,
because at Dijon, Yvan Lebon will unveil a Corvette C5-R, one entered
by the works team at Le Mans two years ago, which he will share
with Marc Goossens.
The Porsches are working
hard to catch up with the leaders. PSI will enter a new car, for
the team regular driver, Romain Bera, partnered by Gilles Vannelet,
In the N-GT Trophy, Rabineau
/ Moulin-Traffort will have a hard job to counter the Demigneux
/ Demigneux and Bertapelle / Bentivoglio Lamborghinis which will
be difficult to beat on a circuit well suited to the Diablo GTRS.
At Le Vigeant, Fred Dedours
and Fred Makowiecki took the lead of the FFSA GT French Cup. Ancel
/ Goubet, Guitard / Rey and Peyroles / Rumpler will have to fight
hard to defeat the two Freds. However, as in the N-GT Trophy, the
Lamborghinis could perform very well, especially the car of David
Loger and Philippe Charriol.
