Spanish GT News
Sergio Fonseca brings us up to date with all the news from
the Iberian Peninsular.
The Polo Villaamil /
Luís Monzón Ferrari 360 N-GT isn´t a Darro Motor
Sport car, as we reported earlier this week, it’s entered
by a new team called Grugnolla Racing.
Jesus Diez Villarroel
won´t continue in the Spanish GT Championship. He will run
in the Le Mans 24 Hours (and probably the LMES) with Epsilon Sport.
However, his teammate, Victor Fernandez will join another team,
a top team according to Fernandez
Meycom, running a Marcos
at the moment, has been in talks with SEAT Sport regarding racing
a Cupra GT. Until a Cupra (probably) arrives, Meycom will continue
with the Marcos LM 600.
At Estoril, Adrian Campos
will replace Moto GP team owner Joan Aspar at the wheel of the only
SEAT Cupra GT racing so far.
Portuguese driver Antonio
Nogueira is planning to debut in the series at the next event, at
Estoril. He is racing in Open de Velocidade, a small Portuguese
championship, to get used to his Porsche 911 GT2 (ex-Zanini Racing).
Hyundai España
is still considering joining the championship, but they seek cost
cutting measures. The French company Solution F is working on the
development of a Hyundai Silhouette GT.
Skualo Racing
and Nissan España are considering running a Nissan Skyline
GTR in 2005. No more details about the project yet, but Nissan España
has another choice. The alternative is to support privateer teams
running the 350Z in the Spanish GT Championship’s GTB class
- running against Porsche Cup and Ferrari Challenge cars.
