A quiet weekend for news, but Claude Foubert spotted one
interesting item in L’Equipe: ORECA has just bought
SNBE, the company formerly owned by Dany Snobeck and Jean-Pierre
Béchu. Remember the SR1 prototype the company created, the
one that never raced?
SNBE builds cars for
the FFSA Supertouring Championship, for the Andros Trophy, for the
Junior World Rally Championship and the French Rally Championship.
They also prepare engines for teams such as Larbre Compétition.
ORECA is apparently
interested in SNBE’s capacity for preparing racing engines,
and Hugues de Chaunac hopes that, with the addition of SNBE, ORECA
will be better placed to attract projects with major manufacturers.
ORECA now has 190 employees in Signes (Paul-Ricard) and Magny-Cours,
where SNBE is based.
