Luby (& Lilly)
Johannes Gauglica was the first one to spot that Kurt Luby has finally achieved one of his lifetime aims – a ride in the (Paris-) Dakar Rally.

You can follow Kurt’s progress using this link.

dailysportscar.comdsc readers will remember Kurt sharing the Sintura with Richard Dean in 1999 (that's Richard on the left of the photograph, Kurt in the middle), a season that ended with an ALMS adventure at Laguna Seca (which had its hilarious moments, but saw the pair make the finish). They’d already won the British GT race at Silverstone, Luby fending off a challenge from Magnus Wallinder in the Blue Coral 911 GT1.

The season before, Luby and Dean had been GT2 Champions in the Oftedahl Viper – but Kurt has always kept himself fit with trials riding, and a ride in the Paris-Dakar was in his thoughts then.

He’s already moved up from 169th position yesterday to 134th today.

dailysportscar.comEven smaller than Kurt is this addition to the dsc ‘stable’: this is Lilly, nine weeks old, and a new arrival here today. Concerns that she might lack confidence among the three regulars here (Jack the border collie and Peanut and Oscar the two cats) proved to be unfounded: Lilly is an absolute terror! Jack’s tail is the main target at the moment.

She may look angelic - but she isn't.

What breed is she? Not really sure! There’s some boxer in her, but probably a few other breeds too.
