Euro GTs At Spa This Weekend
The Euro
GT Series has had a troubled 2003 season but the double header 40
minute races at Spa this coming weekend (one race on Saturday and
the other on Sunday) might help to blow away the cobwebs.
There are some interesting
entrants for this race with the Wieth Motorsport Ferrari 550 and
the Knook / H&P Stealth B6 both expected to appear. There is
an entry too from PSI Motorsport with a Porsche GT3-R, plus a similar
car entered by Dutch team Force APP Racing. The favourite for the
race win is likely to be the formidable Cor Euser in the mighty
Marcos LM600.
Peter Cook is following
his familiar pattern of entering races in a number of championships:
he’s entered both a Chrysler Viper for himself, and a twin
turbo Porsche for Paul Daniels.
The Knook /
H&P team is also posting an entry in the N-GT class for their
title challenging Marcos Mantis (photo). Therein lies an unusual
strategic tale, because drivers Peter van der Kolk and Rob Knook
will swap seats in both cars during the compulsory pit stop during
both races, in an attempt to both enjoy the grunt of the Stealth
and retain their N-GT championship lead.
