Kruse Promises New Cars For 2007
The short term for Kai Kruse’s team sees it heading for Jarama for the final round of the Le Mans Series.

That will be the last race for the team’s Courage C65 Judd, but team director Ian Mitchell has indicated that new machinery (plural) is on the horizon for 2007.

“2007 will be the third season for Team Kruse,” says Ian Mitchell. “We have produced some solid results during our first two seasons and we aim to build on these with new cars for 2007. We have very exciting plans for the future, in addition to the LMS we are planning our new endurance spec. cars which we plan to campaign in the VLN and some rounds of the Britcar series.”

Those plans should become clear next month – but there is more than a hint that there could be a move to LMP1..

Next week’s Spanish round of the Le Mans Series will see 2005 European Formula 3000 Champion Nobert Siedler making his sportscar debut in the C65. He’ll be partnering regulars Jens Petersen and Jan Dirk Lueders.

“We have had quick drivers in our Courage in the past too, but I feel sure that Nobert will provide some surprises during the race at Jarama on the 24th of September,” says Kai Kruse. “We will of course support Norbert to help fulfil his ambitions for the future, and maybe there will be something for all of us in that future.”

Here's Jens Petersen during the opening stint at Donington Park last month, the Kruse Courage on the way to a delayed fifth in class.
