Pescarolo – Pushing On
Autosport has the double Pescarolo news this morning – that Henri is pushing ahead with plans to construct his own chassis for 2007, and that Didier Andre will almost certainly race the team’s entry at Donington Park at the end of this month (with Emmanuel Collard and Jean-Christophe Boullion).

Pescarolo admits that Andre is bringing some finance to the team, but the driver from Lyon has been very quick in Belmondo Courages during the last two seasons, so the driver line-up is at least as strong as at the Nurburgring last month. Andre has driven an LMP1 Lola for Taurus Sports in the recent past (Le Mans 2004), and is a 675 winner at Le Mans (2003).

Henri Pescarolo admits that he hasn’t yet put all the finance in place to build his own LMP1 car, but hopes to have it up and running before Christmas. The new chassis will be fitted with the bodywork from the existing cars, plus the same running gear.

Meanwhile, Didier Andre’s former team, Paul Belmondo Racing, will be switching engines for its single car entry at Donington Park: the Mecachrome V8 is being replaced by the unit that proved so successful for the team in 2005, the AER four cylinder turbo.
