Le Mans Series Team Points
(After Three Races)

The team points in each of the four classes are beginning to show a pattern, after three of the five races of the 2006 Le Mans Series season.

Either Chamberlain-Synergy, Swiss Spirit or Zytek Engineering will need to win at Donington Park and Jarama, with Pescarolo failing to finish either race, to deprive the French team of a second LMP1 title - but the other three classes, in particular LMP2 and GT1, are still wide open, and are almost certain to be decided at the fifth race.

The #39 Lola switching to #40 (from the Nurburgring) has had a significant effect on the points: Amaral, de Castro and Burgueno would be leading at this point without the change of name last weekend, but three finishes for Barazi-Epsilon sees that team at the top instead.

GT1 could in theory go to any one of the seven teams that have scored so far, while GT2 is dominated by the Autorlando Porsche, with two second places and one victory. Team LNT and IMSA Performance are ahead of all of the Ferrari 430s – despite Ferraris having won two of the races. Consistency is everything of course.
