Dan Eagling To Drive Virgo Ferrari 430
dailysportscar.comSome concrete Ferrari 430 news at last – British GT regular (and occasional LMES racer) Dan Eagling, a McLaren Autosport Awards finalist in 2002, has signed to drive a new Ferrari F430 GT2 car in the 2006 LMS, for Virgo Motorsport.

Virgo will be one of the first European based teams to take delivery of the latest Ferrari GT car, developed by Michelotto, which has been undergoing extensive testing for the last three months.

Eagling (right) will drive alongside an as yet unnamed team-mate: the Virgo aim is to establish a race-winning combination that will take them through into 2007 and a crack at the GT2 class at the Le Mans 24 Hour race.

Chris Warne’s Virgo Motorsport, based in Essex, has prepared a number of GT cars (Ferrari 360 Challenge / Woodcock Brothers Mosler / Jim McWhirter Ferrari in British GT), but is now moving up to international GT racing.

Dan Eagling had hoped to get his Le Mans chance in 2005 – but, depending on results achieved in the next 18 months (and always dependent on gaining a Le Mans entry), it looks as though he may not have to wait too long.

First race for the new car will be at Istanbul in April.
