Paul
Knapfield's Ferrari 712
We didn't have time to keep up with the CER event at Monza - but
a glance from the balcony behind the media centre revealed an intriguing
Ferrari, sans bodywork, being pushed into a vacant garage, to have
its set-up checked.
"I've owned
it for about seven months," said Paul Knapfield. "Did
you see me in qualifying?"
Very briefly,
yes, as you blasted along the pit straight.
Knapfield was
setting laps in the 1:50 bracket in the Can Am monster, and was
allegedly touching 200 mph past the pits. He slaughtered the opposition.
He also owns
a gorgeous Ligier JS2, which he raced in the recent Pau Historic
meeting.
