IN2Racing – 2 Car Entry For LMES
IN2Racing team manager Aled Dudfield, at Sebring today, confirmed
that the team will field a two car Porsche 911 RSR entry for the
full 2005 Le Mans Endurance Series, with Juan Barazi and Michael
Vergers confirmed in one car (and a third driver looking likely
to follow suit later today) and Paul Warren, Chris Hyman and Mike
Richards all now confirmed for the second car.
“We like the longer
LMES races very much. It works as a format, for both our drivers
and our sponsors too.”
A limited programme in
the British GT Championship remains a likely prospect too.
For this week though
the team is concentrating on getting to grips with the unique challenge
of Sebring International Raceway, where Vergers and Barazi are joined
by ex-F3 racer Andy Thompson:
“Andy has been
excellent, his technical feedback has been very good indeed and
his approach has been extremely professional, we’re delighted
to have him on board here, in what is his first GT race run.
“The week so far
has been a baptism of fire for the team but we want to run at the
very highest level and this is where we can find the yardsticks,”
continued Dudfield. “Michael has been doing a good job and
Juan is making excellent progress: despite being hobbled by a misfire
he’s got absolutely no shortage of confidence either in the
track or the car.”
The team’s regular
support squad are being bolstered this week by Kevin Jeannette’s
Gunnar Racing squad (a marriage brokered through the pages of dailysportscar!),
the local knowledge provided by the US contingent providing a definite
boost for the still very new GT team.
“We haven’t
shown our true speed yet,” says Dudfield, “but we should
make steady progress in the race. Everyone is looking forward to
a great run.”
