Audi V12 TDI Is Race Engine of the Year 2006
The Corvette LS.7 V8 may have been the Global Race Engine of the Year, but the Audi V12 TDI diesel engine is the Race Engine of the Year 2006 and Alternative Race Engine of the Year – awarded by Race Engine Technology magazine.

On behalf of AUDI AG, Ulrich Baretzky (right) accepted the Race Engine of the Year trophy at the Professional MotorSport World Expo in Cologne. The Head of Engine Technology at Audi Sport was also awarded the title Design Engineer of the Year 2006 at the international motorsport exhibition.

Baretzky has every reason to feel very pleased with the result of his team’s work (and that of the chassis designers): the Audi R10 was unbeaten throughout 2006.

Worldwide every second new Audi is already delivered with a diesel engine – and the proportion of diesels is increasing.
