Mans News From France
Auto-Hebdo reports this week that Paul Belmondo will enter
only one car next year, in the Le Mans Series and at Le Mans - writes
David Legangneux. It will be a Courage LC75 AER. Paul Belmondo
and Karim Ojjeh will be at the wheel.
On Wednesday, Ouest-France announced, unofficially, that
Sébastien Bourdais will race at Le Mans next year with Peugeot.
This confirms what we heard in the Le Mans paddock earlier this
month. Ouest-France explains that after his third title
in Champ Car, Bourdais confirmed to the newspaper his talks with
Peugeot. Then Henri Pescarolo suggested to the paper that Bourdais
was planning to answer positively to Peugeot. Of course Serge Saulnier
at Peugeot hasn’t confirmed any of this: the Peugeot drivers
will be announced in December. Minassian and Sarrazin still look
to be the mot likely season-long drivers.
News received from Italy ends the rumour of Italian drivers moving
from Audi to Peugeot. Rinaldo Capello never did talk to Peugeot,
while Emanuele Pirro has apparently had contact with the French
manufacturer, but talks seem not have gone any further.
