Sebah’s Objective – An RS Spyder
”The objective is to put together a programme with the (new) Porsche RS Spyder in 2007,” says Sebah team owner Hugh Hayden.

He comments that “there’s a lot of interest in the project – but all of it is from the continent, so far.”

Hayden has had designs on a prototype programme for more than 18 months, and the timing of the revised RS Spyder, for 2007, fits in well with his Sebah team’s plans.

“We’ve had discussions with Porsche personnel, and we’re working flat out to make it happen. It’s an ambitious programme, but the car is a potential class winner – possibly even overall in the right hands, although probably not at Le Mans, because of the long straights.”

Referring to the revised RS Spyder, Hugh Hayden suggests that there are “performance and aerodynamic improvements with the 2007 car, and it’s more cost effective for a privateer team.”

But Hayden well knows that “there’s no substitute for proper funding, and we’d only go ahead and do it to win. I’ve got a very strong relationship with Porsche: they’re very supportive and they respect what we do. We’re speaking to people who want to win: people who recognise that there’s a price to winning.”

So the 2004 and 2005 Le Mans Series GT2 winners are very keen to move into prototypes in 2007.
