Wendlinger Joins The DP Brigade
Karl Wendlinger will co-drive the Sigalsport Riley BMW at the Rolex 24 next month, with Bill Auberlen, Matt Alhadeff and Gene Sigal.

Wendlinger is a former winner of the event – the classic 2000 race, driving an Oreca Viper, partnering Olivier Beretta and Dominique Dupuy. They beat the Ron Fellows / Justin Bell / Chris Kneifel Corvette by just half a minute.

“It is a great opportunity for our team to add a former F1 driver and Daytona champion to our drivers’ line-up for the Rolex 24 at Daytona,” remarked team owner / driver Gene Sigal. “We wanted to make sure that our partners and sponsors get the most competitive line-up for the biggest race of the year. Bill Auberlen, Matt Alhadeff, Karl Wendlinger and I will try our best to have an incident free race to finish as high as possible and score maximum points for the 2007 Rolex Series point standings.”

Karl Wendlinger’s most recent run at Daytona was in 2005, in an Ebimotors Porsche, with Johnny Mowlem, Dieter Quester and Vincent Vosse.
