TRG’s 24 Hours To Become Documentary Film
Kevin Buckler’s TRG has a typically large entry lined up for
the Rolex 24 again, and everyone associated with the TRG Daytona
24 Hours programme will be the subject of a three-hour documentary,
by noted film maker Sean Heckman and his Checkered Frog Productions.
The film will follow the team and team owner Kevin Buckler in the
planning, practice, running and managing of the six car TRG effort,
and the development of the TRG / iRise / Pontiac GTO.Rs, as they
are prepared for the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona.
“Motorsport has been a part of my life for as long as I can
remember,” said Sean Heckman. “I've watched and loved
all forms of motorsport since childhood and, while in High School,
was lucky enough to have been a successful racer myself. For the
past year, I'd been working on several networks to try and produce
a special on endurance racing, so when the announcement came that
the GTO.R would be running this year's 24 for the first time, all
of a sudden I had a great hook.”
Shooting began at the tyre test at Homestead last
month, and will continue through to the climax of the 24 Hours.
200 hours of footage will be edited down to a three hour film –
to be broadcast in six half hour slots. It will be shown on the
iN DEMAND networks (in April), one of the most successful pay cable
services in the US.
