Promec – BMW Engine
Gabriele Tosi tells us that SportAuto&Moto in Italy is reporting that the Promec is undergoing an engine swap in time for the last FIA SCC race at Nogaro: the Sodemo Peugeot is being replaced with a five litre BMW, prepared by Italian BMW specialist Armaroli.

Team owner Gianfranco Trombetti is apparently “very disappointed” with the performance of the Peugeot V6 (the same engine that powers the Pescarolo Courages).

Alex Caffi (photo) led the Promec charge to second place at Donington Park earlier this month, but unless the engine change has been delayed until after this weekend, it looks as though the Italian car won’t be at Spa for the 1000 Kms.

Development work on the unique chassis is being planned for the winter months.
