Spa 24 News From The Nurburgring
With some teams combining the Le Mans Series and Spa 24 hours, there was some news regarding the 24 hour race at the Nurburgring today, Saturday – writes Joost Custers.

The Gordon Porsche team was keen to announce that Marc Goossens is joining the team for Spa. “After Markus Palttala last year and Marc Duez this weekend, Marc Goossens is the third top-driver we will have worked with,” says Yves Lambert. “I’m very happy to finalize the deal and I look forward to working with him.”,

Marc Goossens has plenty of Porsche experience as he won the Zolder 24 hours in 1998 in a PCA 993 and he became Belcar GTB champion in 2002 in an RTM 996 GT3-RS.

PSI will most probably run two cars at Spa, both the C5-R and C6.R. “The driver line-up has not been finalized yet,” explains Markus Palttala, “but we would like to do this by Monday.”

David Hart will not race the Spyker at Spa. “David drove with us at the test day, but he felt rather unhappy,” says Mike Hezemans. “Apparently, he prefers the bigger GT1-cars, with more torque and power. So, there is a fair chance to see him in the SRT-Corvette.” Nothing is known about who will take David’s place.

Other Belgian teams likely to run one or more cars at Spa are Mühlner (last year’s G3 winners), CEO Racing, First Motorsport and Speedlover– all Belcar regulars.
