Cirtek Plans Not Clear Yet
Having just won the Mil Milhas event with the team’s Aston
Martin DBR9, what are Cirtek Motorsport’s plans for 2006,
with this car and with the Ferrari 550? Rob Schirle (pictured with
Christophe Bouchut after the win in Brazil) explains:
to popular belief, we still have some seats available and would
be happy to speak to drivers who want to win in 2006.
“We have agreements in place for some team sponsorship for
this year, to help subsidise the right drivers.
“As of this moment, the Aston Martin and the Ferrari are both
available for the FIA GT Championship and the Le Mans Series, and
we still have limited seats available (in the Ferrari) for Le Mans.
“In an ideal world, I’d like to have
one ‘professional’ car in the FIA GT Championship, and
strong cars in the LMS series: we‘re aiming to race in both
series in 2006, not necessarily in the same car as we did in 2005.”
The team’s Ferrari has just come back from Prodrive, having
been checked on their jig for alignment, and is undergoing a full
rebuild ready for the start of the season. A complete rebuild of
the Aston Martin will begin, as soon as it returns from Brazil.
“As a team, we’ve proved ourselves time
and again,” concludes Rob Schirle, “especially recently,
having won the last race of 2005 and the first race of 2006. We’ve
