It’s a full 30 car field at Brands Hatch this weekend, with
the GP track exerting its usual appeal on GT racers.
makes a return to the series, in a GT3 Trackspeed Porsche, partnered
by Danny Watts, who raced with Ryan Hooker in the #3 Trackspeed
GT Cup car at Pau in June.
“David wants Danny in the car with him, and
he wants to win,” says Trackspeed’s team manager Piers
Masarati. “Danny has been winning everything in the Carrera
Cup recently. Next year, David wants the team to run three 997 GT3s.”
Aston Martins are back this week, to race against single GT3 entries
from Lotus Sport Cadena and Damax. Richards Stanton and Hay will
drive the Ascari KZR1.
makes a return to the championship in a Porsche: he partners Peter
Bamford in a Motorbase Cup Class 911, the team also entering Tom
Ferrier and Phil Glew in another Porsche, while Jaz Motorsport also
runs a Porsche for Paul Mace and Rod Carmen (in the Invitation Class).
They’ll be up against the Maxspeed Toyota, on its (delayed)
British GT debut.
Also ‘new’ to the series this year will
be two Scuderia Grifocorse entries – a Ferrari 360 and the
team’s familiar Lotus Elise.
