Testing At Donington Today (2) – Eclipse Mosler
Both Lee Caroline and Phil Keen were on duty today, in the Eclipse Mosler MT900R – and at lunchtime .. well, the team was patiently awaiting some new Avon tyres, straight from Cooper Avons.

“They’ll be here by 1.30,” said co-owner Chris Pollard – and the new rubber duly arrived on time.

Before that, Chris Pollard commented that “in an ideal world, we’d have been testing before Oulton Park, and the learning process would have been completed before the first meeting of the year.

“The Mosler has never raced at Oulton Park before, and our pace was probably a result of two factors: tyres and set-up. In truth, we were lucky to escape with two third places – especially as we had a wheel bearing problem in the second race.”

Later today, with Keen and Caroline having tried the latest rubber, Pollard was “very grateful to Avon. They’re trying very hard, and they’re working with the teams. We’re still a little short of pace here, but in fairness we raced a different chassis at Donington last year.

“The drivers were much happier this afternoon (on the new rubber). The Avons are slower than last year’s tyres, but it’s the same for everyone.”
