Ryan Hooker Signs For Trackspeed
dailysportscar.comRyan Hooker must have driven a wider variety of GT cars than anyone else in 2005: now he’s settled on a season-long drive, partnering David Ashburn in one of the Trackspeed GT3 Porsches.

Hooker raced for the team at the Vallelunga Gold Cup last November, again with Team Principal David Ashburn, the pair securing a class win – and that’s what he’s after at the end of the 2006 British GT season..

“This is a marvellous opportunity for me," says Ryan Hooker, "in a championship contending car. “Having worked with Trackspeed at the end of last season I saw first hand the dedication and promise of the team, so am very proud to join them for their assault on the British GT3 series."

"It is a great sounding-board to have the reigning champion as your team manager!" he continues – that being a reference to current GT3 co-champion Piers Masarati. "Piers is able to see the process through a driver's eyes and when setting up the car we can really bounce ideas of each other."

Trackspeed is planning an intensive test programme, some of it in Spain, before the British GT season starts in April. The team was busy at Snetterton yesterday, evaluating a number of drivers for its three car effort this year – in both a 996 (below) and a 997.
