SRT – Two Corvettes In France & Belgium
Following the Belgian team’s victory at the Zolder 24 Hours,
it’s off to France next, for this weekend’s FFSA GT
event at Albi. The team’s two Corvette C5-R’s are entered
for Bouchut / Lebon and Soave / Cayrolle – and then in October,
at the penultimate Belcar event, the cars will be driven by Maxime
Soulet, Jan Heylen, Jeroen Bleekemolen and, most probably, Christophe
Bouchut again.
“We took some time off to enjoy our win, but
we are already 100% focused on the rest of the season, because you
can’t hang around in this sport,” says Patrick Selleslagh.
“This second victory at Zolder is something
really special. In this type of competition the whole thing turns
around the entire team, the boys in fact, the drivers and the mechanics.
You can only win if it all gels together. And in that light we were
successful. And just to prove that this victory was no stroke of
luck, we are out to demonstrate it during the autumn both in France
and Belgium.”
“There are further races after Albi, namely
in Le Mans and Magny-Cours and I’m out to score everywhere.
Le Mans will obviously be an exceptional weekend with the presence
of amongst others the DTM. This shows that the FFSA-GT is part and
parcel of the better GT-work in Europe and the world.”
Regarding Spa next month, Selleslagh says that “we
still need to finalise our agreement, this weekend, with the ex-FIA
GT champion and should his pretty full agenda not permit it, then
we have another leading figure ready.
“But Christophe is one of our drivers and
he will do everything in his power to excel for us at the beginning
of October!”
