ProSpeed Launch
Last night (March 31) saw the official launch of ProsSpeed Competition,
the new team founded by Rudi Penders, the reigning Belcar GTB champion
(with Franz Lamot), and Luc Goris, ex-technical director of RTM
and TT Racing - writes Joost Custers.

The team will race two 996 GT3-RS Porsches in Class
2 of Belcar, for Rudi Penders / Franz Lamot (#21) and Pascal Nelissen-Grade
/ Christian Kelvers (#22). Prospeed will also enter one Supercup
in the smaller Endurance Cup. The target for 2006 is to win the
class 2 title and to seek another victory in the national class
in the Spa 24 hours. We asked Rudi Penderswhat the philosophy behind
Prospeed is and we received a very encouraging answer…
“Prospeed’s passion lies in endurance
racing,” explains Penders. “Together with Franz, Luc
and the others, I have achieved numerous successes in endurance
racing and we are now looking to further expound on these with ProSpeed.
We have outstanding gentleman drivers and where better for them
to excel themselves than in endurance racing? Our race programme
has therefore been tailored accordingly. In the first instance we
are targeting Belcar, FIA GT3 and the 24 Hours of Spa. This also
offers the drivers the opportunity to develop their talents over
a period of time - and together with ProSpeed, the potential to
compete once more in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, as we did
with the yellow Porsche of RTM in 2000.”
“ProSpeed is actually purely Porsche but this
could change in the near future,” continues Luc Goris. “ProSpeed
retains close ties with Porsche. Both Rudi Penders and myself have
always been closely associated with the German sports car manufacturer.
Not only does Rudi Penders head up an official Porsche dealership
but both he and myself have over the years also experienced excellent
sporting successes with the make.“
“Beside
this ProSpeed is also oriented, and this not in the least through
the experience of those concerned, to developing projects around
other makes. The technical and logistical expertise of ProSpeed
is targeted at converting every challenge into a success.”
