Dutchmen For SRT Corvette
Dutchmen David Hart and Jeroen Bleekemolen will drive the no.1 SRT
Corvette C5-R in the MVD Belcar series in 2006. 24 year old Jeroen
Bleekemolen drove in the DTM in 2004 and proved himself in GT racing,
again, in the GLPK-Carsport Corvette during the Proximus 24 hours
of Spa, and in Spyker’s LMES programme. He replaces Marc Goossens
at SRT this year, alongside David Hart – Goossens was the
Belcar Champion and winner of the Drivers’ Challenge in 2005.
Team owner Patrick
Selleslagh: “I’m very happy with the arrival of Jeroen
Bleekemolen. He’s a very good driver and he understands that
the task of replacing Marc Goossens within the team will not be
an easy one. Jeroen is also a perfect answer to the sporting and
commercial ambitions of the team. He has huge technical experience
as well and will be the right driver to ensure the succession of
Marc Goossens.
“David Hart was
without doubt the revelation of 2005, he surprised many insiders
and outsiders, as he had a ‘clear round’ in Belcar.
He proved to be a very valuable driver for the team.
“But I also want
to thank Marc Goossens for his dedication,” continued the
team owner, “he was very important over the last two years
and he did his part in everything SRT achieved. I would like to
wish him all the best for the future and maybe we will meet again
on the track...”
