Fehan On 2007
While conversing with Corvette Racing program manager Doug Fehan,
for a future article on the GT1 class regulations changes during
the 2006 American Le Mans Series schedule, the topic of next year
came up.
As
of yet, nothing is definite, but there is a strong chance that Corvette
Racing may not return to the ALMS for the 2007 season.
“If we
can’t find a forum to race here that is consistent with our
mission statement, which is to showcase the durability, reliability
and performance of the Corvette, we need to go somewhere where we
can,” outlined Doug Fehan.
Where the team
might be racing can be left up to the interpretation of the reader,
but unless there is a firm plan from the ALMS to return to the ACO
regulations, upon which the Corvette C6.R was homologated, you might
have to expect to see the team racing elsewhere in 2007.
