Pedro Lamy’s Mid-Ohio Flight
You might have seen the video clip already, of Pedro Lamy’s extraordinary incident at Mid-Ohio last Saturday morning.

As you’ll see, the gravel trap did its job perfectly.

The team attributed the incident to a brake balance problem, the DBR9 then becoming “airborne over the kerbs before landing in the gravel trap and hitting the tyre wall. The car suffered superficial body and light suspension damage”.

The car was ready to go in qualifying, Lamy setting the third best time in GT1.
