Lexus
For Lime Rock
Almost the only sportscar news in Autosport this week concerns
Chuck Goldsborough’s Team Lexus IS 350s, for the ALMS.
The weekly magazine
indicates that the cars will now make their debut at Lime Rock in
July.
“We started
work on this car on December 1,” says Goldsborough, “and
every part that you can unbolt is made of carbon. That meant it
was too much work for any one supplier.”
The team owner
is at least happy that the cars will be thoroughly tested before
their race debut – which wouldn’t have been the case
had they appeared at Houston (or Mid-Ohio).
NB.
The other news in Autosport is that the rumoured GT support
series for the DTM - two 30 minute races at four events - now looks
unlikely, although Michael Bartels apparently still believes that
races could take place later in the season.
