BAM! – Gearing Up For ‘05
Tim Munday’s BAM! (British American Motorsport) team has announced its plans for the new season. The British engineer is BAM!’s technical and race director, as well as team owner.

“BAM! is a strong believer in and supporter of the ALMS, and the fans will see us again at every ALMS race and in France again in June,” says Munday, “when we plan to once more scale the highest peak in sportscar racing, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.”

For a good number of the team members, 2005 should be four in a row at Le Mans, the entry this year having still been in the name of Orbit, as a carryover from the 2003 ALMS. In that year, Munday and Rodger Hawley masterminded a second place finish in the 24 Hours. 2004 saw Mike Rockenfeller, Marc Lieb and Leo Hindery start second on the grid in LM GT (GT2 in ’05), in the YES Network-backed 911 RSR.

Leo Hindery will drive in selected ALMS races, plus Le Mans. He will be joined by other drivers, for whom a search is underway. HL Capital, Inc. of New York will replace The YES Network as a sponsor.

The other significant change for 2005 is that Tim Munday’s car will be shod with Yokohama tires. His goals are the same as ever though: “To put on the best possible show for the fans, to grab some podium finishes, and to capture the first-ever ALMS GT Founders Cup.”
