ACEMCO Saleen On Michelins
dsc has learned that it seems 100% certain that Jeff Giangrande's Saleen S7-R will race on Michelin tires next season - both in a full ALMS season, and at Le Mans (where the team has a guaranteed entry).

A formal announcement from the team is likely to confirm the tire news, plus the presence of Johnny Mowlem and Terry Borcheller in the silver Saleen - with a third driver joining them at Sebring, Le Mans and Petit Le Mans. David Brabham and Joao Barbosa took on the third driver role in the ALMS endurance races this year.

Michelins should see the combative regular pairing taking the fight to the factory C6.Rs in 2005 - and any other regular GT1 contenders in the ALMS, which obviously includes the two privateer C5-Rs.... with just a hint that we might see a very interesting newcomer join the ranks.

Sebring will start the ALMS season with a significantly stronger GTS/1 entry - Aston Martins and Ferrari 550s joining the throng - while an ACEMCO Saleen on Michelins at Le Mans (no Saleens in 2004 of course) will be a very quick US contender. Jeff Giangrande's team to really take the fight to the ALMS Champions - which is what he has been wanting to do ever since purchasing his Saleens?
