First Words – Dyson On Michelins
Andy Wallace was being so careful not to say the wrong thing at Sebring this evening, he handed his ‘phone straight to Chris Dyson! Not that there was anything at all negative to say, it was merely that the Dyson Racing team will be revealing more details of their three days of testing in Florida after Wednesday’s (day 3) action – but we extracted a few clues from Chris Dyson regarding progress on Michelins so far.

“We’re working methodically through a programme to find the balance we need, but to sum it up so far (pause)….it’s pretty impressive.”

He described the switch to Michelin rubber as “a big change for the team,” and that sentence above indicates that set-up adjustments have been made to the Lolas to suit the new tyres – and perhaps that the cars’ performance next year will be suitably impressive.

What did you expect, lap times?

Doubtless there will be plenty more testing before the 12 Hours meeting at the same circuit next March, by which time we really will know how a Dyson Lola B01/60 performs on its new rubber.
