Luhr & Maassen Race For BAM!
We thought that GT Champions Lucas Luhr and Sascha Maassen were going to stay in Europe this year, in the Freisinger GT3-RSR in the FIA GT Championship. But following on from the news that Marc Lieb and Mike Rockenfeller will race with the team at Le Mans, with Leo Hindery, we now find that Luhr and Maassen will be fitting ALMS races into their schedule.

Leo Hindery will drive in all the remaining eight ALMS races this year. Luhr and Maassen will compete in six races that do not conflict with their duties in Europe. Both will race with Hindery at Lime Rock Park and at Laguna Seca Raceway. Maassen will also drive at Mosport International Raceway and at Road America – in a two driver line-up. Luhr will drive at Sears Point Raceway and at Portland International Raceway.

BAM! co-owner Peter Baron will drive with Hindery at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and in the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. Porsche factory driver Mike Rockenfeller of Neuwied, Germany will join Hindery and Baron for the Petit Le Mans. The trio drove together in the 2003 Petit Le Mans and the 2004 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

"It will feel strange competing against Alex Job, but of course they are the main competition,” said Sascha Maassen. “I'll feel really bad competing against them - until I put on my helmet."

OK, got all that? We look forward to testing our ALMS man Tom Kjos on the BAM! line-up at each event - and watching the competition race against those AJR cars.
