Barron Connor Racing’s Website
It’s just been launched, in good time for the team to debut its Ferrari 575 GTCs at Sebring next month – and what an excellent website it is, at www.barron-connor-racing.com.

dailysportscar.comThe first image you’ll see will be Jacky Ickx in a Ferrari 312PB at Sebring in 1972. He and Mario Andretti took chassis no. 0882 to victory, two laps ahead of Tim Schenken and Ronnie Peterson in 0886. It was a far from straightforward 1-2 for the almost invincible 312s though, the winning car burning oil, suffering punctures and having its rear lights fail.

What a treat to find a website that recognises the past... and oddly, that 1972 event was supposed to be the last 12 Hours to be run on the bumpy old airfield circuit. The plan in March 1972 was to run future races on an alternative track.

Barron Connor Racing will be hoping for a similar sort of result (not performance) to that of the 312PBs, in the GTS Class next month.

There’s no clue as to the identities of the three drivers in the team’s second car yet.
