Dick Barbour Lamborghinis?
That’s the view of the Autosprint magazine today – which claims that the chances of two, Dick Barbour-run Murcielago GTS cars running in the 2004 ALMS are “99%” (writes Gabriele Tosi).

Assuming this project goes ahead, the cars will not be ready in time for Sebring, but the Italian magazine suggests the debut would be at Mid-Ohio, round 2 of the ALMS, on June 27.

Dick Barbour has been absent from racing in recent seasons, although he was expected to be part of the 2002 MBD (originally DBM) Panoz LMP07 project, which eventually went ahead without him. His Porsches were triumphant in the ALMS in 2000 (nine wins and the GT title), and he ran a pair of 675 Reynards in 2001 (six wins and the 675 title). His previous era in motorsport ended in 1980.

Reiter Engineering is still working on the Murcielago’s development, in conjunction with Audi personnel.
