Flying Lizard - Two RSRs In The ALMS
It’s odd the way a tip off that was unofficial (then) can easily become fact in a confused mind: we were tipped off in October that the Flying Lizard Porsche effort, which first appeared at the Grand Am Daytona Finale, would become a two car ALMS effort in 2004 – and now that’s confirmed. With two 911 RSRs.

dailysportscar.comThe Flying Lizard team has been at Daytona during the past few days (with their GT3-RSs), and will be racing at the Rolex 24 at the end of the month, before turning to the nine race ALMS season.

Johannes van Overbeek will drive one (ALMS) car with Darren Law. Lonnie Pechnik and Seth Neiman will drive the other one.

"We are excited about running in the world's premier road racing series,” said van Overbeek. “It makes for a challenging first year, but the only way for us to grow as a team is to run with the best.”

van Overbeek is one of the team's principals – along with Lonnie Pechnik and Seth Neiman, plus Team Manager Eric Ingraham, Crew Chief Tommy Sadler, and Chief Engineer Craig Watkins.

Significantly, the two Porsches will run on Michelin tyres.

Shoreline Communications, Inc., and Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. are both sponsoring the Flying Lizard team.
