GT - Knockhill - Sunday Morning Notes
Showery
Showery weather
is predicted for the two 40 minute races later today so the rain
which heralded the morning warm-up was, if nothing else, good
practice for the 16 runners who chose to go out.
All the teams
were busy practising pit stops, more critical than ever in such
a short sprint race, with the two Mosler squads and the Eclipse
Motorsport TVR team looking particularly slick as drivers were
flung out of the car for their partners to replace them.

The only incident
of note on the track was a problem for the #22 Rollcentre Racing
Mosler, Tom Herridge feeling that the gearshift was looser than
he was used to before finding the gear lever came adrift completely.
A relatively easy fix for the crew, the car will be fine for
the race.
The Rollcentre
squad were in good spirits after an evening at the Cowdenbeath
stock car meeting last night. Tom Herridge was impressed: “Real
wheel to wheel stuff, 1000 people in the crowd and everyone seemed
to be smiling. There’s got to be a lesson for British motorsport
there somewhere!”
A sharp contrast
with the other major motorsport event of yesterday evening, an
impromptu media karting race, won by dsc’s resident four
wheeled hooligan Paul “lightweight” Slinger. Ever
competitive, the topic of conversation straight afterwards revolved
on a discussion over how Paul’s substantial weight advantage
was clearly the reason for his dominant performance! Amongst
the array of talent vanquished by Slnger were Jakob “did
you see that pass I just did” Ebrey and Autosport’s
spikey haired bundle of talent Marcus Simmons. Well done skinny,
we’re proud of ya!
