There have been some withdrawals from this meeting: the French, ex-Short / Rollcentre TVR Cebrera didn’t show after all, the Xero Corvette withdrew after suffering double engine trouble, and the Greensall Stealth isn’t at Spa either. The mighty BMW M3 GTR of Georg Severich and Steinberg is back, after engines woes on Friday.

But despite the above, this Belcar field is still impressive for the upcoming race. The second qualifying held early on Saturday morning seemed to be faster. Vosse set a 2.18.877 in the opening stages of the session, to go second fastest. Kumpen then took back his second place with a very good 2.18.441. He was closing in on Marc Goossens and so SRT decides, supported by the Pratt & Miller crew, to get the C5-R out of it’s box. Kumpen sets another flying lap in 2.17.792.

Oh, Goossens is really flying : 2.16.934 ….2.16.485… that’s pole confirmed.
