Zolder Masters Warm-up: RTM Porsche Crashes Heavily.

The morning warm-up session for the Zolder Masters was driven in very tricky conditions. The track was still very cold with frost still apparent in some places.

Racing in these conditions is dangerous as Rudy Penders in the #31 RTM Porsche found out:

“I was driving at 80 km/h when the car broke away. I couldn’t control it and hit the wall. The car is badly damaged but maybe we can repair it. The front and rear suspension are hit, the front left disk is broken and of course there is some body work damaged.”

Palttala was second fastest in the GTB championship challenging RTM car, just behind Kuismanen, a small consolidation for the RTM team. It is perhaps no surprise that in these winter conditions two Finnish drivers are fastest…
