At Sebring – Friday Report
A problem-free
Friday is the holy grail for teams contesting the punishing 12 hours
of Sebring and PK Sport came through the Friday practice session
without a problem.

Hugh Plumb (below,
right) was first out in the #60 car, the car running the team’s
spare gearbox, while the race unit was rested. The car was also
trying out a softer compound of Pirelli, which both Plumb and Peter
Boss found a better balance through the session.
Peter
Boss takes up the story: “The car ran very well indeed, we
bedded in some pads and the car felt good and quick too. We’ll
run again tomorrow for the warm-up and then we’re ready to
go for the race itself.”
Boss is making his debut
here at the 12 hours, but his family has some impressive heritage
at this long-lived event:
“Both my brothers
have driven here in recent years and my Grandfather Russell was
official starter in 1952 and then drove here with Briggs Cunningham
and Stirling Moss in the late 1950s. My dad saw him race and he’ll
be here tomorrow to watch me too.”
It was a good
day too for the crew in the #61 car, all three drivers were out
this morning and again the car came through without much drama,
a minor excursion from Tracy Krohn the only notable incident, but
with no harm done.

Tracy Krohn
has had an eventful day, announcing this morning that he is to field
a two car Lamborghini team in the ALMS, together with veteran team
owner Dick Barbour. John Hindhaugh finds out the news for the Radio
Web, below.

PK boss Mike
Pickup had little warning that such a significant development lay
behind Krohn’s addition to the PK family:
“Its
great news for the ALMS and for Tracy, he’s been good to work
with this week and it’s good to hear we’ll be seeing
him around the paddock throughout the season.”
With the afternoon
autograph session (lots of fun, above, and great for the fans and
drivers) the only other official action for the team’s drivers
it was early to bed and early to rise (a 7:30 am warm-up session)
ahead of the start of the race at 10:30 am on Saturday.
It promises
to be a great race and a huge challenge for PK Sport.
David Warnock
looks to be up for the challenge, right.
