Neil Cunningham went out onto the circuit with our
Chief Photographer and Editorial Assistant, to bring you this guide
to a lap of the Mount Panorama Circuit. He'd like to start from
“Also known as Hell Corner. Use third gear, important corner
to get a good exit to carry the speed up to Mountain Straight. Loads
of people go off here."
“Expect to reach speeds up to 140-150mph in the Morgan."
“Tree on left hand side the track then falls to the right,
use light late brakes here."
“Also known as Donut King Corner. Blind corner, go down two
gears get over to right hand side, and aim for the marshall's post.
A lot of time to be made up here."

“Keep to centre of track as you go towards Skyline. This is
where the serious enthusiasts gather!"
“Keep to right, very quick low kerb on left. Come off the
Esses and The Dipper
“You have to see this to believe it, it's very hard on the
cars, a real diff. braker. Keep to the middle of the corners."

late here, come out of corner then go hell for leather on to Con-rod

“Stay on left hand side. Top gear, 155mph."
“Go into corner, put half the car on the white line on the
left, take the right hander flat out ... then brake and go down
three gears before turning in between billboard and marshal's post,
being careful of the steep kerb. A low kerb as you leave Caltex
Pet Foods Corner
“Last corner before main straight, use late braking: it is
important to get a good exit out of the corner onto pit straight."
